Build With An Engineer

Children’s Museum guests invited to “Build With An Engineer” on Saturday

If your kids love to build with LEGOs, K’Nex and anything that is buildable, bring them down to the Terre Haute Children’s Museum on Saturday, Oct. 21, so they can “Build With An Engineer.”
For the 19th year in a row, U.S. News & World Report's college rankings have placed Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at the top of engineering schools that are focused on bachelor’s- and master’s-level education, and, on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon, students from Rose-Hulman will be at the Museum to encourage the next generation of engineers!
During the "Build with an Engineer" event, which is included with admission, Museum visitors will get a chance to partner with the the Rose-Hulman students to create, explore, engineer and play using a wide variety of materials, including K'nex, LEGOs, Zoobs, Brio Trains and more.
Guests will also get a chance to work with the students to experiment with the Museum's Fiddling with Physics exhibit. Place a rocket on the launch pad and experience Sir Isaac Newton’s First Law of Motion. Connect a maze of circuits to make things spin, sound-off and light up -- without any external power. Utilize electromagnetism by launching an object into the atmosphere. And then, customize a car for speed, and experience the laws of motion while racing a friend to the finish line.
The "Build with an Engineer" event is a part of the Rose-Hulman Day of Service. All members of the Rose-Hulman community (students, faculty, staff, and alumni) are invited to participate in the Day of Service, and the volunteers are paired with community organizations throughout the Wabash Valley to complete a wide variety of projects.
